Does anyone here ride a KHS? Specifically one of the Flite 100 models from the past couple of years. I'm curious to see what people think of the ride. A lot of times people bring up KHS in posts but very little is said since it seems a lot of riders have a Bianchi or Fuji. I think this is a result of the fact that shops most commonly carry one of those two brands for entry level track bikes so people don't really get an opportunity to try them out.
Also, just out of curiousity, does anyone have one of the late 90's KHS Aero Track models with the curved seat tube? Those look sweet.

i just recently got the older orange KHS aerotrack with the sloping top tube. the geometry is super tight and it rides solid. but yeah i was totally in love with its predecessor with the curved seat tube. i actually test rode one (an even older one that had the blue finish), and the weird thing was that the top tube actually sloped upwards. the silver one is the bomb, though. i used to see a couple of them around in Boston when i lived there in 99.
i think the new filte 100s are pretty ugly. don't know much about them though.
how tall are you? there's an orange aerotrack one going on ebay...

The problem with KHS is the limited sizes (only 4). The ones they have are either too big or too small for me. Older ones had a lot of character but the newer ones seem to have deteriorated in the aesthetic department. Purple/blue color of this year is so-so looking and the downtube looks out of proportion and ungainly. However if the size fits you, I think it is a better buy than bianchi. Both use the same grade tubing (probably made in the same factory in taiwan) but khs has better components.

I saw that KHS on ebay but I'm not into the wheelset that's on it. I think it's going to drive up the price with tubular rims and tied and soldered Aero spokes. A little too much for me. Just give me some MA3's and a surly or Suzue hub and I'm happy. I LOVE the frame, though. I think i'm obsessed with KHS Aero track frames in general.

55 I guess but I'm not sure because the aerotrack is not a "normal" track bike. I'd have to ride one to find out, No?

true... for a normal geometry track frame, i'd be looking for a 50cm. but i fit awesome on my 53cm aerotrack.

i'm a little under 5' 8". i think my inseam is just under 30".
when i'm straddling the top tube (in the middle), i just barely clear it. a little more clearance if i move towards the stem. a little less if i move back towards the seat. (duh).
one thing that threw me off a little when i first started riding is toe overlap. it's super super overlappy. i guess it doesn't bother me too much anymore - i just avoid super obstacle sidewalks while riding at walking speeds.

I got the new flite 100, the components suck ass. The Sugino cranks are pimp though. I'm working on some upgrades... I'd go with a Bianchi Pista probably if i could do it over again, or i'd build one up...
