I have just returned from my first "Real" ride on my BikeE. To clarify I have been using it for my very very short commute just to get used to it and family responsibilities have denied me any rides of any distance or over other than flat terrain. It was very comfortable and there were not surprises. It didn't like the uphills and I liked having the bigger gear on the long straight runs. I hit 31.5 MPH on the hill in Prospect park, which thankfully is closed to traffic on the weekends. l must install a mirror and lube the chain properly but overall I was very happy.

I just sold my Bike E AT a month ago and got a Cycle Genius Raven 700.

The Bike E served me well for many a mile.

Still have my Bike E RX. I use it on a 20 inch trainer now days. First thing I did was change the tires. I still think it is one of the easiest bents to start learning on. It took a little longer to get used my V-Rex and V2 but there much more efficient bikes.
The key being, ride and have fun.

Bike-E is a great 'starter' recumbent. One thing Bike-E excelled at, when they were still in business, was the parking lot test ride. They were easy for beginners to jump on and ride, and were FUN! That alone sold a bunch of them. I hope you enjoy yours.

I have just returned from my first "Real" ride on my BikeE.

 How long have you had it? .. That company folded half-a-dozen years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE BikeE's and still have my '97 with XL frame.
+1! for it being a GREAT first-time recumbent. My 9 year old just took his first solo ride on it a couple of weeks ago.
He loves all the "cool bike" comments he gets. :p

Globalrider, glad to hear that you're finally getting some REAL riding time on it. ENJOY!!:thumb:

I got it in september and with the start of the school year and a bunch of other issues, I was unable to get many miles on it so far.
