Hi!

I am gathering the parts for a utility bike. So far I have the rear frame from a Trek Y5 and will be using a Schwinn Searcher for the front portion. My questions are:

What is the best way to align the frames to ensure that the axles are the same distance from the ground?

Since the Trek bottom bracket was a sealed unit, what is the suggested method to mount it to the Schwinn frame?

Thanks,
Don

Maybe I don't understand, but using the same size wheels would seem to ensure that the axles are the same distance from the ground.

I think you are trying to ensure the same head tube angle as the original... to maintain the same handling.

Before you do the conversion, measure the distance from the BB to the floor. Then match this when you install the long-tail.
