Anyone out there using or riding this steel frame Specialized?

I'm looking for the next upgrade, and would like to move to all Ultegra components...this bike has what I think is exactly the parts I am looking for...but I would like any feedback if I am missing something, as I have yet to ride one.

My "wants":

1. Double
2. Ultegra
3. Full Carbon fork
4. Carbon seatpost
5. Steel frame

Funny enough the Allez steel model is exactly that!

Anyone think this is a decent ride, or should I really be looking at a carbon bike? I have an aluminum frame now and would like to move to something w/ a bit more vibration dampening.

I appreciate any thoughts. :)

My primary training buddy rides one and he loves it. In fact, when his was stolen last year, he just went right out and bought another one just like it.

i've ridden the cro-moly frame before and i really liked it. i think it's one of the best bikes in it's price range. i can't imagine that you wouldn't be happy with it. i read a lot of positive reviews as well.

i went with the alum frame (allez comp) because it was really marked down, but all in all, i've been very impressed with bike.

I'm getting a price of $1499 for the Cro-moly from an LBS...sounds like a good enough deal. I think I could probably get the aluminum Comp for the same price.

I'm wondering though if the '05 model will have the newer 10spd Ultegra and should I wait for it? I'd hate to get the '04 only to find out 1 month later I could of gotten that much better.
