I'm doing a quick interest check on this item for a group buy.

It's a 200g carbon post with 23mm setback. The head is polished 7075 Aluminum.

Sizes are 27.2 x 350mm and 31.6 x 350mm ONLY.

Pricing would be $39.99US + $10.00 shipping.

Delivery to my office would be 45 days from when the order is placed and then another 7~10 business days to your door.

The graphics will be different.

If there is any interest I will start a new thread in the Group Buy forum.

Generic carbon post with no outsanding features for a price that isn't radically different or better than others. No ty.

By generic do mean it doesn't have a decal on it you recognize?

Could that be because it's from a factory that does make products with logos you recognize only they aren't licenced to sell it with that logo?

Always a pleasure.

What type of adjustment on the clamp? Two bolt or one?
That is more important to me than the material it is made of.

The pics show 2 bolts on the rail clamps
The post clamp I would imagine you would provide you own-type depending on your bike

Thanks. Pictures get blocked here at work. I didn't realize there was a pic with the original post.

Yes, There are two bolts on either side of the rails (on the inside of the rails). The teeth that the clamps engage on the head of the post are on the smaller side of normal to allow more subtle adjustments.

I have a customer using this post for cross at the moment so we will find out how solid the teeth are soon enough. My feeling is that they are fine.

it's cheaper and faster to get one from a lot of popular bike store sites online, what is your selling point for it?

I would be more inclined to get a zero-setback post with a Thomson-style two-bolt rocker head.

You would get more interest with a good deal on an aluminim Thomson seat post than this no-name Taiwan carbon one. I tried to do a search on Tmars and my computer blocked the site and said it was an unsafe website. I hope the seatpost is safer.

Personally, I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and get an Easton CF post.

52-55 days to get a friggin' seatpost??!! Why would I wait almost 2 months for a very middle-of-the-road post? $10 for shipping seems a bit crazy if I'm waiting 2 months for it.

Because I'm air shipping them from Taiwan?

Because winter is coming and now is the time for projects that have extended time lines?

Ok people.

This was called an "Interest Check". I sourced this post for a on-line seller in the US and thought it was a decent product at a decent price.

If I want to sell them I need to buy 100pc EACH SIZE from the factory. That means committing my time and my resources to this product.

As it stands there seems little interest out there other than critiquing a product and a process most are unfamiliar with.

The lack of interest is now mine. I will focus elsewhere for my next project.

I think people are looking for wheels right now ;)

I just switched from the clamping style (bolts on either side) of this seat post to one that has bolts in front and rear, and the new post is able to keep the seat level when the old one couldn't. I read a few things that led me to believe that the clamping style this post uses is out-dated. Also, I just don't think many people get excited about seat posts, hence the responses.

Funny, the next thing I am looking at is a carbon rim buy. I am just trying to figure out if the shipping makes it workable or not.

I don't like the fore/aft bolts because the way the forces are exerted on the rails leads to a higher failure rate in hollow tube rails. This is according to internal research I read when I worked with Selle Italia. This was part of the reason they modified the shape of their rails. YMMV.

I think the responses are typical and disappointing as usual.

If I do move ahead with this product it will be for domestic distribution only as I had originally intended.

Thanks for the intelligent post.

I believe that is exactly what "generic" means, yes.
