Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. You can lose the contents of your home directory if you log onto the guest account, then out and into your regular one.

Careful all, and keep your Time Machine backups up to date until this gets fixed.

Still haven't made the plunge to Snow Leopard. Haven't seen any reason too, yet.

Too bad it's going to take 6 months for Apple to patch it.

Yes. We are turning this into a Mac vs PC vs Linux thread.

I can't remember if I activated my guest account before or after I installed SL. I've never logged in to the guest account though so hopefully I'm safe till i deactivate it.

The only reason I ever got snow leopard was that it cost me $10 :p

Of course, this doesn't count as a bug because it's a Mac, and Steve Jobs is perfect.

Sorry. I had to go there. After all, it's not like the Mac fanbois don't flood every single thread about Window's issues.

My housemate is also having some kind of problem with his Snow Leopard upgrade. It doesn't look like it's the same though. He simply has no network adapters showing up after the upgrade.

I guess I need to look into this "time machine" thing. Do I need an external hard drive for that?

Yes.

They'll have a fix for this within a month. They always do.

Of course I've only been using Macs for 5+ years longer than you've even been on the stupid planet, so what do I know?

I'm not a Mac user any longer, but I was always impressed with how quickly they patched the really serious ****. I'm not saying it's going to happen, but if an update showed up before Friday, I wouldn't be surprised.

Apple acknowledges the issue. (http://news.cnet.com/8301-31021_3-10373064-260.html)
