Touring - Pictures from my ride across the Pyrenees

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello everyone,

Here are some pictures from my ride in the Pyrenees, coast to
coast, early this month. Just a basic photo show now, I haven't
put any day to day narratives or descriptions yet.

Simply gorgeous. I'll have to remember that route if I ever go on a european cycling tour.

Thank you CL39 so much for the beautiful images. It brings tears to my eyes, it is such a beautiful dream trip. On Day 7. St. Beat to St. Giron there is a winged monument. What was that monument dedicated to? It would make a beautiful monument to a bicyclist.

Fabio Casartelli died there during the 1995 Tour de France (http://www.torelli.com/kom/casartelli.htm). It is a beautiful momument to him indeed.

Thank you for sharing your trip with us. Tomorrow I leave for a 10 day bike tour and I'm nervous. The photos of your trip have reassured me that it's all worth partaking. Thank you again.

Chuckie, Have a great trip. Score another :) for bikeforums!

Tomorrow, a friend and I too leave on a 2 week trip to bike from my home in NJ to Maine and Brunswick, CA. 8 days to get to the border and from there we're playing it by ear, depending on what we want to do.

very cool! I like the pictures a lot, inspires to go do the same or something like that! How did you do the ride, like did you stay in tents and eat cheaply or what? thanks

I stayed in cheap hotels, mostly 1*, they were OK for most parts.
As for food I bought some fruits in the morning and
ate throughout the ride and for dinner, baguette and canned meat to make my own
sandwich. So I was able to keep the cost down.
