Well I picked up my new madone today. I spent about an hour at the LBS getting fitted for it. I must say coming from a hybrid to a road bike is a whole new beast all in its own. I swapped seats at the store to a avatar gel and it made a world of difference than the stock seat.
Got home and only did 3 miles. I wanted to do more, but its cold and nasty here in North Texas with off and on light misting rain this am when I got home. Even though I am excited about this bike, I can tell it is a whole new beast to get use to. This lower position is going to take some time to feel comfortable on. I have my new cateye computer on order, should get it in a day or so. I was up to 25 miles a day on the hybrid, but I have a feeling I am starting all over again at square one...
The bike is smooth, not as smooth as my hybrid, but nice in its own way. You can tell that there is instant power to the pedals when you mash on the gears. Very responsive handling. Its like being on a sports car. Shifting is a breeze.
Sorry to ramble, just excited about the new toy...
Oh... and the carbon frame did not blow up once!!!!
