Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I joined the forum to figure out more about this bicycle i just bought. I thought it was a 1973 due to the stamp on bottom, although I have never seen a red and white one. If anyone can help, let me know. Ill probably post another topic about this later, although why not throw it in in my intro? :p

Im looking to get into cycling, and never really riding roadbikes in my past, I decided this would be a fun alternative to going to a $800 entry level. Especially if i decide that cycling isnt for me. Although so far, in leisurely road riding to work, and around town, this has been a blast.

Let me know if anyone can help in identifying this bike. Thanks.

Hi and welcome ,
You state the year based on the "number", OK as it could be a 1973.
You don't state the model, it looks like a Grand Sport.
You have the biked facing left, can't see the crank, we show bikes opposite.
I don't know what you meen by entry level, the bit about $800 either.
I wouldn't characterize the bike as entry level. If it has 531 Reynolds T.Set
You can state that too. The components aren't so hot, it's the way it was back then. Only the better English bikes got the modern stuff. The parts are sturdy and 531 is a very good tubing. Again, I can't see all but I suppose it is...........

It's a nice bike. If your care to know more, take another photo or simply fill in some details : #'s , names on the bike or the number you're referring too .
