I'm looking for a new saddle and supergo has some ones I'm going to look at of this brand, aireon for 25$. Which is better if I don't like it then spending 80$ or more on a sella italia or san marco. Has anyone in particular tried this one saddle (http://www.supergo.com/profile.cfm?LPROD_ID=24114&lmfg_id=3&searchtext=&referpage=)
Anyone tried the SLR? I was looking at a lot of saddles and this one seemed pretty good, a little bit of flex in the wings, not a ton of padding but it felt like it would be comfortable.

I have SLR saddles on my 3 roadbikes. It doesn't have much padding but I guess its a hit or miss with this saddle. Either you fit or you don't. Online reviews of the SLR either say its the worst saddle that will numb your nuts within 1 mile or its the best saddle they've ever had and they can barely tell its down there.

It looks like the Aireon Team Race Saddle you are looking at is discontinued and is no longer available.

Another saddle that has a similar profile to the SLR is the Serfas Stinger Comp (http://www.serfas.com/racing_saddles/racing_saddles_14.html). It's a bit more expensive than the aireon but you can find it on ebay for about $40-50. I know someone who uses the Stinger and they're very happy with it. The rage these days are FI'ZI:K (http://www.fizik.com/Main.aspx) saddles, like the Arione (http://www.fizik.com/arione/arione.aspx). It maybe a bit off your budget though.

Your best bet is to buy it from a store you know you can return or exchange purchases easily just in case the saddle you go with doesn't work out. Good luck. :)

I have considered the arione, but like you said it is a more pricier option. The supergo near me had that saddle on the wall I think. I remember seeing the aireon saddles. The newest ad for them has it advertised. I don't know about return policies on saddles at supergo, I'll have to ask.
Anyone tried the Sella Italia SLK? It got pretty good reviews on roadbikereview.com. Any San Marco saddles that are pretty good/popular? The apside maybe? I don't really know their line of saddles.

I use a San Marco Arami Gel Around saddle on my cross bike. It's a bit heavy at I believe 285gr but its built like a tank and is fairly comfortable. I've done centuries on it. RiDe 's response unfortunatlly is correct, you just gotta keep trying till you find the right one. I am doing that now and currently trying out the Fisik Arione. I saw those Aireon Team Race Saddle too, if you get one please let me know what you think of it...

I think the Aireon and SLR have very similar shapes and the Aireon weighs about the same as the SLR XP I just got. The SLR XP has a little more padding than the SLR and Vanox rails so it weighs 165gr. I did my first 30 miles on it yesterday and it felt really good. The minimal padding didn't make the saddle uncomfortable either.

I'm 5'5" so many saddles are too wide in the front and rubs between my thighs. The SLR XP is slim in the snout so it feels pretty good. My previous saddle was a Selle Italia XO and was pretty good too, just heavy.

I have the sella italia xo right now, been riding on it since september. I go through spells where I will start getting a saddle sore, so I neosporin the crap out of it. Then the saddle just plain isn't comfortable and I've got a couple pairs of good bibs. It seems about 1-1.5 hours into a ride the saddle just starts bugging me. I am always shifting around on it and just seems so hard and unforgiving. I'm not a big guy, 5'8'' <140lbs so are there any saddles that seem to work well with somewhat smaller guys? I might have to look into the slr xp. Hadn't heard of that version. Looks like I might be making a trip to the lbs.

The XO actually has more padding than the SLR XP although there are several models of XO (with and without gel, etc). However, even on the XO, I would get numbness after a couple of hours too. Then I tried Chamios Butt'r and it was like night and day. I did a century with barely an inkling of numbness. Try the cream before shelling out for a new saddle, unless you want a lighter saddle. :)

I have chamois butt'r actually. Won't ride without it now. My XO has the gel insert. It just seems like a crappy low end seat companies throw on the bikes. I don't even know if I've ever seen anyone else riding one. I'm not overly concerned about the weight of the saddle, of course I don't need a one pound saddle either. I had just taken a close look at the the slr just out of curiosity and it seemed like it would be a good try. Anyone know of a store in the metro phoenix area, or an online shop, that is generous in its return policy regarding saddles?

I started looking at the SLR but thought it a bit to firm. Went with the much cushier Terry FireFly very comfy. Was on sale at performance at the start of the season.
