Will the following 2002 or 2003 Campy record group fit and work on a on a Specialized Roubaix 52 frame.........
Full Carbon Groupo 20 speed with Gipiemme Tecno 924 rims and Gipiemme 32-spoke hubs, 13-25 rear cassette, and Campy Ergobrain computer
I would then want to install an FSA compact crankset with 50-34 chainrings
What do you think?

Thanks

all of that is compatible with the Roubaix

I was going to say something about compact cranks and carbon frames as carbon frames typically have braze-on (although they're actually bolted on) front derailleur tabs. And sometimes there may not be enough adjustment range in those tabs to allow for proper positioning of the FD to match compact rings. However, I noticed from pictures on the Specialized site that the Roubaix does not seem to have FD tabs and that the FDs are clamp mounted. I would think that wouldn't be an ideal way to mount a derailleur on a carbon frame. Does anyone know why Specialized decided to not put in a tab? Admittedly, as long as the clamp isn't overtorqued, it shouldn't be a problem.

Answered your own question.

You'd throw Campagnolo on a Specialized? Philistine! Barbarian! Never throw Italian parts on a non-european bike. Sure it can be done, but why?

I've heard of it being a cycling faux pax to throw non-Italian components on an Italian frame but I hadn't heard it was against the fashion rules to put Italian components on a non-Italian frame. I still think the whole thing is rather silly either way though.

Because he hates Shimano? :D

Hey cmon, Six13 records, TCR Teams... nothing wrong with those right?

Funny thing is I would only put campy on italian frames too. If I'm going to be a snob, I might as well go all the way. ;) :p

Really doesn't matter though, go what what you want. :)

I was at a very snappy LBS in the northern suburbs of Chicago and the techs were joking that Campagnolo was Italian for "money in the bank". I chuckled along.
