I have a 1 Watt Planet Bike Blaze headlight mounted on the opposite side of the handlebars from a Specialized Speedzone Sport wireless computer. Problem I have is that when the light is on, (steady or flashing), it plays havoc with the output from the computer, (i.e. speed is overstated by a factor of 5, distance is incorrectly measured, etc.) Both products work great independently of each other, but not too well in tandem. Any other users have this issue with the Speedzone Sport computer?

Common problem with lights and cyclocomputers. If you really need your computer riding at night, a wired unit is your friend.

The good news is that wired computers are less expensive than wireless. Performance usually has several brands of wired computers on sale for pretty cheap prices.

Thanks for the feedback - I was hoping that someone might have some creative MacGiveresque solution, but looks like it will take a trip to Performance Bike cruising along at 99 mph to solve this problem!! Any recommendations on wired computers you guys might have would be appreciated.

My PB Blaze doesn't interfere with my Edge 305 at all. Of course, I think the edge gets the speed from the GPS instead of the sensor on the chainstay when there is a GPS signal available. The cadence functions fine, though, and it comes from the same wireless sensor unit.

You could wrap the light, cord and battery with aluminum foil and make sure it's well grounded. Might cause overheating though.
Actually I bet most of the radiation comes from the power cord. They really should shield those things.
As far as recommendations for wired computers, what functions do you want? I use a Planet Bike Protege 9, it gives me all I want, clock, temperature, ride time, speed, speed trend, ride distance, odometer, average and peak speeds. All but the last three on one display without having to touch it.
If you want cadence, I used to ride with a Sigma 1606 which I picked up on eBay for $25 new. I thought it was cool because it had a backlight and I ride at night, but I soon realized that I don't ever really look at my computer when I'm riding anyway, I just use it for odometer.

PB Blaze 1W doesn't have a power cord. Takes 2 AA batteries in the unit. You could try wrapping aluminum foil around the light body. Agree overheating might be a problem.
