Hey guys,

Does anyone know if there are bike paths within Liberty State Park? I know you can bike around the park on the roads, but on satellite view (GoogleMaps), it looks like there are paths criss-crossing in the park. I'm not sure if these are dirt, gravel, or asphalt paths. I have a road bike and will be working in the area a few days in the next month; just wanted to see if I could make the ride longer by going on these "paths".

There are paths criss-crossing all over Liberty State Park. You can also ride an incomplete path to the park from Newport, a new mini-city near Hoboken.

I'd imagine Liberty Park is starting to get rather frosty by now, being by the water. It's a great place to ride in the spring, summer, and fall. The bike path (Waterfront Walkway) is also worth checking out, although it's not really designed for "roadies."

You can treat pretty much any path in the park as a MUP. There is an actual road that runs north to south if you want to do laps or ride fast.

I don't mind the cold, I work outside a lot so I have plenty of cold-weather gear I could throw on.

Visit downtown Hoboken while you're in town and stop by Carlos Bakery on Washington Street. That's where TLC's "Cake Boss" is filmed. There are also lots of restaurants along that strip.

The park is a great place to ride. If you're coming from (or want to get to) downtown Jersey City, there's a wooden foot bridge that connects the very end of Jersey Ave to the north end of the park.
