Hello all,

I am a roadie from Texas, but in early NOV my two brothers and I are heading to vegas to celebrate my father's 60th. He would like for us to head out somewhere to rent some mountain bikes and have some fun. We are not a super athletic bunch and were looking for some beginner trails.

any suggestions? ideas?

thanks everyone.

check out Boulder City, NV and Boulder City Bikes. They are a complete shop just south of Vegas. They will also provide transportation, maps and a wealth of info.

Bootleg Canyon is a great Mountain Bike area. It will wear you out. There are also more moderate trails in the Lake Mead Recreation area that follows old Rail Road beds. You go through old stone tunnels, pretty cool stuff.

If you are located in the NW part of town, Summerlin area, Red Rocks has many good roads to travel.

Try mtbr, Nevada subforum. The L.V. guys just started a sticky for visitors las year and if the sticky doesn`t answer your questions you can post your own. Lots of Vegas traffic on the site.

Try emailing this guy in Boulder City, NV.

neil@bouldercitybikes.com

He knows the area and has great rentals. The BC area is close to Lake Mead and Boot Leg Canyon.

Didn`t he die last year? I could be thinking of the wrong guy, but I`m pretty sure he won`t answer.

If you're interested in one-stop shopping, McGhie's rents bikes and runs tours out near Red Rocks.
