Nice bike and a 1000W motor on the front hub! Let us know how that works out, I tend to prefer front hub motors.

hi the front spots are standard car spots with leds plus a 55watt halogen bulb in each. i am glad i got the front hub motor as my batts are quite heavy so although alittle bit back heavy the silly handle bars actually help the centre of gravity. cheers rob.

yes, balancing the weight of the battery and motor is very important, i find

my build has a rear hub motor with front battery mount

Nice bike-what is your total battery weight?
Your battery is roughly 1000 watt-hrs, right(12X80=960 watt-hrs). I'm guessing roughly 50 lbs?
A Prius battery pack is 1500 watt-hrs and is supposed to weigh 90 lbs-I'm guessing your pack is roughly the same energy/wt if it is nickle metal hydride. If it is lithium based, it could be 30 lbs or so,I think.

Indelicate question-HOW MUCH??
It is like an old fashioned moped-you can still pedal it?
How far down can you draw those batteries(70 % charged like a hybrid car)?
What sort of range-all electric-at 15-20 mph level hy?
Great bike,
Charlie

hi thanks for your interest in my machine. i will try to answer as best as i can but i am not electronically minded so here goes. i have 4 12v 20ah sla batterys the sort that are used in golf trolleys etc. they each weigh 5.9kg so about 24kg for all four. they have tons of reserve energy i use throttle all the way to work with 2 steep hills . the ones witch would make a normall cyclist get out the seat and sweat. i can go up any hill with this bike with the slowest speed being around 10 to 11mph. flat road will cruise easy at 32mph. down hill up to 38mph free wheeling. batterys cost me £92.50 delivered from ebay. thanks again for your interest cheers rob.
