No TTTs ... well.
A long ITT ... in the final week.
Lotsa climbs, but no Ventoux. Good enough.
I read there will only be 3 uphill finishes, which was said to be the same as the 2009 edition. I was hoping for more this year.

The stage ending at the top of the Tourmalet looks awesome!

Fine course for a Contador/Schleck showdown.

nice to see the tourmalet get the respect it deserves and garner a stage finish. it is all
too often (along with the aubisque) the pyrenean equivalent to the alpine trio of the
bonette, izoard & galiber on the road to elsewhere. granted, the bonette & galibier
don't seem to have enough room to host a finish but the tourmalet & the various ski
areas along the way should host a mountaintop finish every other year-at least!

glad to see that the race at least skirts the massif central on july 16-stage 12.
not as dramatic as the pyrenees or alps but as the bridge between the two,
definitely outweighs any flatter stage that passes to the south of it. really beautiful country
and contains the "puys." to me, this is the authentic french mountain country. wish this
area were featured more often. there are always some riders bold enough to animate
the race here instead of waiting for the last mountain range. if there are not going to be more
mountaintop finishes or a ttt, more hilly/medium mountain stages please!! both the
massif central & the vosges (another argument, another time) fit that bill perfectly.
I'd like to see an ITT down L'Alpe d'Huez!

Love it.
Prologue and start of first stage are 30km from my front door.
Was rocking out to the supplied video tour (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4nJwtkS6g0&feature=player_embedded#).
