So now that I finally got some free time and decent weather I was able to take some better pictures of the Gitane that I picked up a little over a week ago.

Sadly because this bike is too small for me(55, I need a 58) I am going to sell it, or perhaps trade it for something in the correct size.

On to the pictures...

Incorrect seat and seatpost.

Ofmega hubs laced the Mavic tubular rims, I'm guessing GP4?

Full campy NR, except for the SR pedals

That is the only chip in the paint on the frame, besides a few scuffs.

Raleigh stem and GB bars?

So as it sits, besides the seatpost, it's too small and I wont sell the bike without buying a correctly sized one, what would you say the bike is worth?

Really I would like to find the correct cinelli stem and bars, campy seatpost, and perhaps even the correct yellow turbo saddle but that last one may be next to impossible. If I was able to find all of that what would that bump the price up to, if anything?

I really wish this bike was the correct size for me, I took for a quick ride and the frame just floats over the road and goes like a scared rabbit with you put the hammer down, but if the shoe doesn't fit....

I want, but I couldn't give you what it's worth.

My opinion, unless you find the bar and stem cheap, and wanted to put the hours in to bring that baby up to rust-free and clean condition, it would probably be better to let the buyer worry about it.

Those wouldn't happen to be the "map of england" bars would they? I have a Raleigh Pro that could use some.

I have a 58cm Raleigh Gran sport, but I am afraid my trade bait falls short in this case.

I believe they would be those bars, if you happen to have any of the bits I need(seat post, stem or bars) I would be up for a trade for parts, but yeah I already have a Raleigh that beats your bait...

It is very tempting to just unload the bike as is and if the right offer comes along I will do so, but I also enjoy a project.

So any word on what it's worth?

Thanks for the replies so far!

Also the pedals are most likely Super Leggera....
