Come join us at the inaugural ride of Bicycling Authors, Bloggers, Bold-face Liars, & Exaggerators, BABBLE, as we take a leisurely tour of Fort Worth We will leave from the Texas and Pacific Train Station on the south end of downtown at about 10 am. If you're coming from points east, you can take the Texas Railway Express (TRE) from Dallas or Irving or wherever... I've recently taken the TRE to Dallas and rode my bike around there, the TRE is pretty bike-friendly. The T&P station is the last stop on the westbound route.

We will ride about 13 miles before lunch at La Familia Mexican Restaurant. After that, it will only be 3 miles back to the start point. Along the way we will see:
. Panther City Bicycles on Magnolia
. Colonel's Bicycles near TCU
. The Trinity River Trail
. The Fort Worth Water Gardens

The pace will be leisurely; I'll be on my 3-speed. Lycra is okay, cotton is okay. Where whatever you're comfy in.

Sounds like fun, but a long ways to go to ride 13 miles. I'll ponder on it. Of course, I could ride to and from the train stations and add to it considerably.

By the way, the TRE is SORT OF bicycle-friendly. The old silver cars are very bicycle UNfriendly, don't know if they're still running them. The double deckers are okay, some better than others.

That would be awesome if you could make it. Someone started a Google group to plan the event and you were mentioned, hoping you could make it. See ya tomorrow... hopefully!
