Hello everyone. I apologize for not getting any pics but the seller took his post down. I am going to look a late '70s Puch tomorrow. it was white and super clean, looked to be very low milage. complete Grand Sport groupo. I believe the frame was 531. the seller is asking $400 but I am going to play poor and show up a bit short say $300? I know Puch was involved with/owned Austro Daimler. would this be a decent bike for $300?
I really want a true vintage bike and I think Puch are still a bit esoteric in this arena no? I'll try and see if I can get apic later today. thanks gentlemen

I'd say if it's super clean, full 531 including forks, and it's what you want, $300 isn't bad, but that's probably near the ceiling of its market value.

Hello these are hot off the Email, well junkyard it is nice and what I want is a 1985 Bianchi Centainaro but they cost way too much if one my size comes up for sale. as i said I would like a true vintage bike and this looks nice. I had a AD frame years ago and liked the ride. it was no Bianchi but it rode very well.

Looks nice and the Ideale saddle is a bonus. I'd go for it!
I'd go for it too. Your size, all Reynolds 531, nice components, excellent to outstanding condition. What's not to like?
To me, condition is everything, and this bike looks like it has it!

I just might. and I agree condition. I don't mind paying a bit more for something clean and well kept like this little gem.

He was actually asking $550 a few months ago (assuming it's the one on Philly Craigslist).

yes it is/was on CL in Philly he is in Deleware county somewhere. 550? for GS? no wonder it didn't sell and if he has been trying to sell it for a few months then maybe he will take 300 for it.

If it were anywhere close to my size, I'd jump on it. We've discussed a similar—if not the same—bike on a couple of other threads (#5600610 owned by another C&Ver). My guess is that it's a '76-'78 Mistral Replica (replica of what I don't know), which is virtually the same as an Austro-Daimler Vent Noir, except that it's blanc. Using an A-D VN as a guide, $400 is right on with current market conditions. $300 would be well-bought for one in that condition. I think you'll be very happy with it in any case.

For what it's worth, I sent him an email way back when he had it for 550 letting him know that it was too high for a bike with gran sport, and that when he went down to the high 2s, let me know. I hope I helped plant a seed for you :-)

It's worth it, even better if you can get it for $300...you know that the "later" Puchs were actually built by Bianchi, right?
Not this one, it's Austrian.

Hello unworthy. funny you mention that. I was just out shopping and for some reason the thought that there was some link between the two pop into my head. I think it was via the Piaggio group but I am not sure.
