I joined the Raleigh Twenty club yesterday.

This past summer, I started restoring bikes for a Bike Forum member who had more bikes than time. As payment, I received several bikes from him. Two of these were Schwinns that I rebuilt and sold on Craiglist.

I took half of my profits and bought these yesterday:

They both need a bit of work, but nothing that can't be easily handled. Paint and decals look great. One needs a proper saddle, a crank arm straightened out and both need the shift lever and cable system. My plan is to fix up one to resell and keep one for my Raleigh collection.

Lucky you! I'm sure you'll enjoy the benefits of the one you keep... :)

Not really an option here. Been out of work since end of March, so funds are a bit tight. I've flipped a couple of bikes last month; wife got half of the profits for bills and I took the other half to put towards
my flipping. The deal was that I'd buy both Twenty's [bought both for less than one usually sells for on
e-Bay], rebuild both, keep the best one for myself and sell the other. Based on what these normally sell for, my keeper would be a freebie and I'll be able to contribute more $$ to the house account.

@phatatude: Totally off topic for folding forum (sorry to the original poster!); Here's my latest project. 3-speed, coaster brake and hub up front. Sturmey Hot-rod stylin' fun. How's your Yellow Caddy Cabby?

Well, seeing that my post has been high jacked, let me say that I like your saddle and grip color match LittlePixel. This was one of my rebuild projects that I completed this year. Frame and fenders were powder coated a satin black.

Beautiful - seems we were thinking along similar lines. Though yours wins on elegance, mine on crazy brashness with those fat franks! :)

Well, it took longer that I expected, but I finally completed restoring my first of two Raleigh Twenty's. This one will soon find its way to the local Craigslist.
