This is my first foray into forums of any kind and I was wondering why at times my name and location is printed in red and sometimes in black.

Names in red are members who are currently online.
Names in black are members who are offline or have their preferences set to invisible.
Yellow jersey next to the name is a member with an upgraded account.
A Red Star next to the name is a member with an upgraded account that they purchased before IB bought BikeForums.
A blue star is a moderator or a member with fleas.
Three blue stars are admins or a member with boils.
Names in red are members who are currently online.
