hi all i am in the market for my 1st road bike. my budget is well under $1000, so i have been looking at some base model allez', treks, and a few others. i am less than impressed with the bottom end components on these bikes. however, i have come across a 2003 Cannondale r600 triple that seems to fit me very well and has some new upgrades, such as a chris king headset, mavic aksium wheels, brand new 25mm gator skins, and a few others i cant remember. the guy is asking $600. i could probably get him to come down a bit, but is this bike worth close to this price? would anyone recommend buying a new base model and upgrading later rather than going used? all input is apprecated. thanks
