Mountain Biking - Fuggenstein can't be killed...anyone for some more rootbeer?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Since B2B felt teased...this is the build thread, I guess. All others so far were random wwjd stuff, so here it is...all crazy like:
I was gonna strip it down to RAW, but I love the A&W finish waaaay to much. Frame deal (with KORE post) courtesy of Scrublover:

What's with the chocolate fountain? And the jamis headtube? Speaking of headtubes, I found half a TCR composite frame under a pile of crap at work.

The fountain was a wedding gift (I think) but works really flippin' well with BBQ sauce and "Hot Mama's" too.
Jamis head tube? Hmmm...that was a stepping stone on the path that led me to my '05 Komodo.
Bought a 2004 from Jenson for $144, was jigged/welded crooked. They sent me a new one under warranty. I had to prove that I wasn't gonna sell it again, so they had me cut the head tube off. On #2...the rear tri flexed under braking forces. They sent me the '05. Can't complain a lick about the '05 except for maybe the tire clearance is a tad tight for a FRHT.

Now I know why I got such a good deal on the Revolution 36's...there are 3 versions (V1, V2, V3)
Here's the set that's OTW to me (std QR rear / 20mm fr):

Here's the new Revolution:
http://www.transitionbikes.com/images/RevolutionWheelset_WhiteBlue3208.jpg
The new Revolution has a freakin' Specialized Stout QR...like a dadgum 10mm TA QR. You can order a 10mm nutted solid for it.
I still got a good deal, I wonder if I can convert mine to a nutted axle?

TBC may have the parts, if the hubshells they use are all the same between models, to convert.
Otherwise, those have a nice gnurled steel bit on the frame contact point. That combined with a good skewer and the SS pulls ought to work. The hub I used had the same, and a bolted skewer worked pretty well.

Yeah...the 10mmBO would have been the bomb.
The tugs won't fit over the axle on the inside of the dropouts, and the QR style hub axle doesn't exten beyond the thickness of the frame, so if I use the tugs, I'll have a 10mm hole w/ a skinny little skewer through it. My other option is to do what I did with the Saint pedal insert washers. Buy a washer that will fit inside the tuge hole and drill it out for the QR...or just hope it works.
I think I may just go the route of the Halo bolt-on skewer. I'm sure it's tough enough for the task.

awesomeness.
Here's the new Revolution:Note that they are Rev 32 rims. Rev 32s totally different from rev 36s. I believe the version numbers of 36s referred to whether or not they had 150mm (old Gran Mal) hub spacing rear or 135 and whether or no they were 12 or 10 thru/nutted or QR.

Updates
It was a bitter-sweet (or "sweet-bitter-sweet-bitter") homecoming today:
Sweet AND bitter...my fork came in, but I wasn't here to sign for it:mad:

Sweet and bitter...B2B stopped by with a little contribution to the build...but the rails are BIG AND FAT. It won't fit my seatpost.

Called TBC...they said this rev. of Revo36 is not convertible to 10mm TA. Oh well. I'm still stoked.

I haven't decided what to do about a headset. If I go Sage, I have room for a spacer. If I go with something else, I'll have to get a lower stack stem.
I think I'm just gonna go Sage.
Another log to throw on the fire...I'll most likely need a stiffer spring.

sick nasty.
The rootbeer looks flexy.
Yeah...I was hoping for the ghey azz pink, but apparently Scrub has a sense of pride.
Seriously, though, looking good. Looking forward to the finishing touches.
Me too...stuff keeps coming quickly...I have an offer submitted on a Sage SL...we'll see how that goes.
Sage is on the way...by far the worst deal I've gotten so far at 40% off...but a crucial piece that won't be found on sale any time soon. I got the SL version b/c my Iodine C collected surface rust in a silly-fast manner.

Well, not really. It's only not pink because the brown color was what they had. The places that had the pink ones were also charging much more.
Either way, I win...(h8pink)

my iodine hasn't had any trouble with surface rust. you just got a bad one i think.
I could do the C for $53 or the stainless for $62.

I have a FSA Pig DH Pro headset laying around, but two things.
I'm thinking of putting that on the dmr instead of the king headset.
