After waiting 3 weeks longer than I had expected it to take, after talking to half of the FedEx ground employees in the South Bend area, after calling the pres of the school's cycling club to tell him it wasn't getting in today, after going to a 2 hour class believing a lost yet another day... its here. :D :D

My bike is in.

For the past 5 weeks I have been a couch roadie, learning the jargon and attempting to retain tips that didn't make overmuch sense yet by reading through this forum, through my free two issues of Bicycling mag, through the armstrong/carmichael performance program my GF gave me...

So- did the pres still come by and put it together for me? Yes (saintly man). did it immediately begin snowing for the second time all winter in south bend the moment the weather realized I could possibly get out today? Of course.

My first ride on my used Specialized S-works M4 2000 (shimano/ultegra) race machine was to circle campus 3 times in 20mph wind and clumping snow. Looking through my tinted glasses was like trying to drive on a dark snowy night without windshield wipers. But it was awesome. Hehe.

Of course I fell, not the first, but the second time I had to get out of my look pedals before the bike came to an unstable halt. Hell, I didn't even have a proper jersey like my two riding companions, but it was fun. Attached is a pic of the bike (back in arizona before it reached these snowy climes).

Just wanted to share... good riding and weather to all.

Chris

(next stop after a crash (pun?) training week- IU for the sunday class 3 crit)

Nebill, I don't know about your weather right now in Iowa, but my back is pretty darn sore from shoveling snow all morning! Our weather changed alright, from pretty darn good to "cross-country" skiing weather! WOW!

Nice looking Bike NotreDameRower!!!
