Meh. It's like a truck with a race car pedigree. I understand the idea, but there just isn't that same panache as the Concept.

I've been a fan of this frame since I first saw it. I'm thinking about selling my guitar to fund a purchase of one.

that font does not fit with the bike at all. makes it look like a chinatown backalley knockoff.

I'm a bit puzzled as to why this frame is so reviled. It looks almost exactly like the Pista Concept, with fairly minor changes: Aero seat tube, a drilled fork and different decals.

I wouldn't imagine the aero seat tube is the dealbreaker, the Fuji Track Comp, just to name one, features one. I have yet to hear anybody bemoan that feature on it.

I would suspect a drilled fork would be a welcome addition to such a bike, as many people like to use a brake. Sure if you don't intend to use a brake, it could easily be remedied with the use of a small strip of electrical tape. The resulting bulge isn't THAT bad to look at it, is it? I doubt that brake hole required Bianchi to beef up the crown of that fork to the point where it becomes substantially heavier (if not stronger, which is not a bad thing).

The decals. Um... It can't be the decals, right?

it really is the decals. I would buy the 09 jamis sonik over the 10 any day. They are the same exact specs, different decals.

Really I have no idea. The Concept just looks weightless, and the Super Pista looks chunky. Could be the downtube. Who knows? Either way, they're both out of my budget.

i like it but i could get a whole TK3 for the price of the frame and fork... or a Tk2 for the price of building this one up with just mediocre spec... and the tk2 is a much better bike.

i dunno i feel like you just pay for names and stickers anymore and the stickers suck, so...

they really blew it on the decals IMO. Also, that thing should be $650 tops. When I placed an order for a concept in '07 the list on the concept was $549. better days i guess.

for me, it's completely the decals. I am IN LOVE with pista concepts. They are my favorite modern track bike by a long shot, and I'm kinda devastated that they aren't making them anymore. I was hoping to get one whenever I graduated college/got the money, but I guess now I will have to settle for a used one. Maybe in the next few years they will redesign the super pista to make it look more like the old concept. a re-do of the 2004 model would be great.

Here's my problem w/ the looks:

1. it looks like some 12 y.o. was playing w/ photoshop and just randomly placed decals on the bike. I mean seriously, head tube badge on the down tube? WTF is that?

2. NO CELESTE

3. Bianchi font is the old school style, which just doesn't fit w/ the modern look of this frame

Also, it's a bit expensive.

I would laugh at anyone paying $850 for this thing.

Edit: Also, anyone else notice the difference in the HT angle? Maybe it's just the pics, but since there is no geometry posted on the BianchiUSA website for the 2010 super pista, it makes it hard to say.

They're making up for all the weak points of the old frame, props to Bianchi! :thumb:

While I wouldn't ever ride either (not into aluminum, not into oversized tubes, not into threadless headsets), the subtle logo approach is nicer. what is worse is the seattube cluster on the new frame. I commented earlier this week about the crappy seat tube cluster area on the leader frames. this isn't as bad, but still not as nice looking as on the pista concept.

All I have to say is it's a good thing I'm not a Bianchi frames because that bike is an embarrassment.

749 for an old frame they threw some flat black paint on.

I bet there is someone in the Bianchi marketing department who is emailing this thread around to various people along with the question "What the F**K went wrong? Heads are gonna roll"

It was so easy for them, they could have just pumped out another frame identical to the old ones and write Pista Concept 2010! People would have lapped it up. Or they could have put an integrated aero seat a bit like the Fuji track pro, but kept the rest of the frame identical and people would be jizzing all over it!

Track racers will probably buy a fair amount of them, but I don't think that is their main target demographic when they went out of their way to add a drilled fork...

and the strengthening of the rear triangle totally spells "hipster trick cool kids" on a bike that totally fails at being good at attracting hipsters. hipsters don't spend 800 on a frame and fork that looks that ugly.

i'd rather ride a ****ing leader and spend the remaining 400 on therapy to deal with the ensuing ego issues.

there seems to be a really stupid opinion among a lot of people on this forum, that wanting your bike to look nice somehow makes you a "hipster" because you're "accessorizing" your bike like a fashion item.

i would not buy this bike, for the sole reason that it is very ugly. that should not make me a hipster.

Given that the majority of people in this thread have *****ed solely about the decals, I wouldn't consider yourself the victim of hipster accusations. I haven't seen a wave of posts here saying "this bike is perfect and structurally sound!". More like a dozen posts whining about it being ugly based on little more than their subjective opinion. I like the way it looks, but I'm not going to cry about other people hating it. The bottom line is neither one of us will be riding it, because it's so damn expensive.

Really Bianchi did nothing but good things to this frame.
Integrated seat clamp +1 (why it took them so long is beyond me)
Stiffer rear end +1 (no one likes a flexy bike when your sprinting)
Beefier HT +1 (again added stiffness)
Aero ST +1

No one brought up good points.
like why a carbon/alu fork. Full carbon would have been better and lighter at that.
or why not a seat mast, or an aero seatpost at least.

the above looks better. The head tube decal is still ugly though. I think the pista concept script is ugly too. Much better though.
