I am looking at 2 sets of wheels for my bike that I am building. XT hubs with Mavic 317 disc, and XT hubs with Mavic 717 rims. The mavic website doesnt have any info that I can find on the 317. There is only a $50 price difference between the sets. Anyone know the real difference?

i believe the 317 is more of a all mountain/trail rim. The 717 is more of a light weight xc/racing rim. The 717 is alot lighter hence for racing, but the 317 can take more of a beating on the trial.
