hello im new to the sport and im looking for a good road bike but dont really want to spend an arm and a leg to get one ,but i dont want to have to chang it out 6 or8 months dn the road when i get into better shape , what do you recomend,i need help getting on the rite track ,im ridding a mnt bike now and it is way too heavy for the road

The big question is...... how much do you want to spend??? A decent bike can be had for as little as 500 to 600 but the sky is the limit from there. Personally if you wallet allows and you're serious about the sport you should not underspend as you probably find you will want to upgrade in a few months.

well i can go as much a $500 or $600 but i want a good bike for that maby a good used bike im looking on e-bay is that a good idea ,

Get lotsa pictures, and either pick up and pay in person or use escrow.

If you are going to buy used....know what size bike you need, educate yourself on the component levels, type of frame geometries and frame materials (steel vs. aluminum vs. carbon). You may want to visit a few local bike shops((LBS) and test ride different brand names and component levels. Thsi may help you decide what is important to you.
