Hey guys so I got in a bike-car accident and i need to replace my back wheel on my fixie. The cog and hub are still in perfect condition, its just that the rim bent. Is there anywhere you guys reccomend to but a rear wheel, i called my local bike shop, who only carry expensive rims (they said theyre cheapest set was 1400 bucks!) anyways i need to buy just a rear wheel not front wheel, and i dont have a huge budget. If you could help me out that'd be great Thanks!
Call a different shop and have them build you a new wheel. You can get some really sturdy rims for well under 70 bucks. It'll be more expensive than a pre-built wheel, but provided you get a good wheel builder it'll be worth it in the long run.

Where are you in LA? I hear Orange 20 has a real good wheel builder. You can buy a rim anywhere, I don't know what Orange 20 carries though. They do cater to the younger/urban/fixie crowd so they may have some fair wheels if you don't want one built on your current hub.

Oh, well it's on Melrose and Heliotrope.
I can't think of any places in West LA unless you buy the rim, go to the Bikerowave, and learn to build a wheel.

If your on a real budget go to a giant dealer and buy a bowery back wheel. Ready to put on // $90.
Sounds like the perfect time to learn wheel building!
