I started a thread a while back asking for input on a new road bike purchase. I decided that when I hit my ultimate weight goal, I would reward myself with a new bike.

Well here it is:

I decided to go with a custom bike from a local builder. I am doing some work for trade on his Web site to drop the price of it a little, but it still had a hefty price tag.

It has Campy Record components and weighs in at 17.15 pounds. We'll cut the steer tube after I see if I want to get more aggressive with the drop.

Looks like there is a glaring hole on the left. N+1 anyone? Mountain bike?

I've been trying to get into the roadie forum, but my heart is still here in the C&A forum, so I wanted to share it with all of you. Thanks for all the support and motivation.

That's a wonderfull bike. It can work even better for you on account of your being able to trim the front down if and when. Do keep us posted from time to time.

Those classic-geometry lines, and it is still 17 lbs? Very, very nice. It looks smoooooth.

I've been thinking the same thing about the hanger. It didn't really annoy me until I took that photo. I am seriously considering redoing it. I had a level, but clearly didn't use it.

I was also hanging the Jamis with the sloped top tube in the opposite direction, so it actually worked with it being angled.

I thought about that too, but I figured if anyone was in the garage and trying to steal something quickly, they would probably take whatever was on the ground and close to the door. Plus I now ride the Jamis everyday to work, so it makes sense to have it esier to get out.

I suppose I'll just have to redo it with a level!

It does indeed and something I hope to help out with. He had someone else start to redesign it but then he disappeared. He wants me to go in and work on the content, but the overall look needs a ton of help too.

I love the colours, and shesh the new bike should be on the floor ready to go not hanging on a wall!
