i was riding my new ss (converted 84 team fuji) and there was a 4 way stop. only the lane i was in and the opposite lane had cars.

so i speed up to pass through with a car and about 100 yards later i hear a loud crack. i thought it was some ******* going to yell dumb shtT at me. but it was followed by "YOU are also required to stop at stop signs"

i slowed a little and nodded my head.

god i hope i get a speeding ticket one day...that would be awesome...buts its a flat area and is kinda rural so i dont think i will be hitting anything over 50 soon...except that old woman i saw...

but anyway, im thinking of getting a flip flob hub so i can try riding fixed sometime. i wont use it in the city though. but i have a lot of long straight stretches that would be awesome...i could ride along the river for a long ass time...awesome.

But necessary to keep morons (who think they are better drivers than they are) from killing people.

If you can't recognize that traffic laws must account for to the lowest common denominator, then chances are that traffic laws are accounting for you.

guaranteed if i told this story to you face to face and we were surrounded by people at a ss/fg gathering, no one here would make any comments relatively close to what they said on here.

i just squatted over your internet domain where you have acquired a fleeting sense of peer respect and humorous credibility by posting unfunny pictures with unfunny sayings in an attempt to provide humorous insults.

that being said, you should keep this in context with any further replies...of course that wont happen.

so mosey on you queer delights. mosey and keep telling yourself, "i made someone 'lol' and g-dammit that means something..."

"I say samting fanny now!"

That is not really a major police experience, but whatever dude. When in Rome, you say potahto I guess. I had a PO on a motorcycle give me a "crack" for doing something like this I looked back and gave him a nod...nothing special. I guarantee you if you included alcohol a night stick and maybe something Rodney King related, you would have gotten responses to your liking.

EDIT: Something like: a police officer stopped and searched me while I was riding my bicycle because he claims I had no helmet on when really it was because of the color of my skin.
EDIT: Only to find out that it wasn't really because of the color of my skin, I really had no helmet on!
EDIT: Then after having given me a $250 fine, I spot a swastika tattooed to the pig's elbow (..that muthaf***a...)!!

How do you know? I have no trouble telling people like it is...whether they want to hear it or not...and I'm far from shy. In fact, face to face is even more satisfying for me. Your story sucks. If I ever decide to throw a quaint little "ss/fg gathering", you're invited.

Yeah, this.

It's funny when people project their internet-related insecurities on others.

one of my friends did get a speeding ticket going down a bridge. But he also did not carry his wallet with him for some reason and ended up in jail until some other friend came by later with his identification.

Yeah you're not required to carry ID with you unless you're driving a car, but you better make sure you don't break any laws.

He didn't go to jail. He was merely detained in a precinct until they were able to identify him. If he were in jail, ID wouldn't help get him out....trust me.

Im pretty sure in NYC you are required to carry ID at all times.

I ran a red light right in front of cop car a few years back. No ID, no money, no nothing but a sleeveless jersey, lycra bike shorts, and Look carbon shoes (not exactly the kind of outfit you want to be wearing in a NYC jail.)

The cops stopped and gave me some heavy crap, talking about how they were going to have to take me in since I had no ID and could be a wanted murderer for all they know. Good thing my brother in law is a lieutenant on the NYPD, a little name dropping goes a long way. They were ready to toss me in jail until I told them to call my brother in law so he could confirm my identity.

One thing I learned from that is that not breaking at a red light and not wearing a helmet is no where near as bad as not having ID. The first two would have gotten me a ticket, the last would have earned me some time in jail until the wife bailed me out.

No, the last one would have earned you detention (not jail) because of the first two.

If you don't break the law, you don't need to have ID. Cops can ask you to identify yourself, at which point you're required by law to tell them your name.

If you break the law they can detain you until they confirm your identity.

What you should have learned is to carry ID if you plan on running lights.

And where do you suppose the NYPD detains you? Im gonna go on a limb and say they put you in cell unitl the figure things out and let you go. Dont get so bent on semantics.

And yes, I did learn to carry my ID when I ride since I never really did learn to stop at red lights.

Yeah it's a fairly semantic difference if you're talking colloquial use, but that's the second time in this thread someone has said "you can go to jail for not having ID" and that is patently false. Failure to provide ID can augment probable cause for arrest/detention, not provide it on its own.

I agree that you cannot be arrested for not having ID but it wont prevent the police from tossing your butt in a cell for some minor infraction tat should get you off with a desk appearance ticket or a fine.

guess i actually am arguing on the internet...********. wow.

i post an experience that is related to the forum and get sh1t because some guys have no other means of establishing respect or admiration in real life, so they resort to becoming rabid users of a niche market inside of a niche market.

i should not be surprised that the people who make pages upon pages of posts and thread about issues like:

what color should my bike be?
what color should my accessory be?
what is your favorite accessory?

...should not be surprised these people are this pathetic. i have a pudgy white guy with dreadlocks talking trash to me.

private schools are notorious for providing superior education. the current president went to private school.

what is the intrinsic negative quality specific to private school?

Pudgy? Listen dude...I wasn't "trash talking". Your story is just lame. How did you expect us to react, by saying "Holy sh*t! What an awesome tale! I'm gonna run every stop sign I see until it one day happens to me so I too can make a stupid post about it on the internet."?

Next time you run a stop, be sure to get flattened by a mom in an Escalade.
