I currently have hubs that have QR axels and I am worried about security so i want to change them to bolt-ons. How do i find the correct length and thread pitch i need for the solid axle i will be replacing the hollow QR one with?

I was also thinking that it might be easier to just get QR skewers that use a hex wrench to get off. The problem is the hub has a spacing of 126 since it is a 7-speed. Will newer skewers today built to fit 135mm spacing work? Is it as simple as just sawing off a few mm off the end of the skewer and the problem is solved? If that is the case, i would much rather do that than replace the whole axle.

The "security" skewers are going to be your best bet. They usually have enough thread that you can put them in and cut off the excess.

These are available through most bike shops. Note that if your existing hubs have cartridge bearings, these may not fit. Many cartridge bearing hubs require a specific axle with shoulders for the bearings. Whether or not there's a solid replacement for a QR axle can be a crap shoot.
