Northeast - Riding in Northeast, MA

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey all, I'm a new member, but have been reading the forums for a few weeks now. I was wondering if there were any other riders who live/ride on the north shore of MA and if so, where? I usually do small loops (~15 miles or so) through Essex, Gloucester, Manchester, Rockport, etc., but some of the roads are atrocious and the drivers that I tend to share the road with aren't necessarily the most friendly.
I am hoping for someone to let me in on some awesome places I can ride without having to travel too far! I have heard good things about Ipswich River Park in North Reading...
I don't know if IRP is what you want. Most of the roads and drivers are less then ideal but you will get used to them. Take a look at the North Shore Cyclists. As the name implies, they are in your back yard for the most part. Unfortunately most rides are starting to wind down.

I'm up here on Cape Ann as well, yea, some of the roads are bad but I've never had a problem with drivers. I ride Beverly, Manchester, Ipswich, Hamilton, etc. I've had more problems with the people on horseback and the road apples.
