1.) Anybody done it?

2.) What's it end up like?

3.) Does the trucker fork have the same tire clearance?

4.) Post a pic?

Thanks!!!

I'm not sure that this makes sense, why bother?

Search bugly64's posts or, better yet, pm him.

For the rack mounts, I presume.

I have a Surly Cross-Check and I had considered replacing the front fork with the LHT fork. I asked Surly about it and they recommended that I not replace the fork since it will mess with the handling. The two forks aren't very different in their geometry so I don't think it would make much if any difference. I think there was someone else besides bugly64 who had replaced their CC fork with the LHT fork and they didn't notice any difference in the handling.

I ended up keeping the Cross-Check fork and going with the Tubus Fork Mounting Kit since I was using a Tara rack. I ordered it from Wayne at The Touring Store at his recommendation and I have never been happier. When I talked with him on the phone he said that he had outfitted more than a dozen CCs with these things and has only heard good things from his customers. If you follow the link below, the mounting kit I am talking about is the fourth item down. This is a cheaper solution and I think that it is just as strong and might actually be stronger.

I doubt you'd even notice the fork change after 10 minutes of riding.

I use the same Tubus fork mounting clamps as Kabir424. I'd recommend this or a similar clamping solution instead of changing the fork.
