BMX - I can't decide?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I've been thinking about selling my 82 Diamond Back Viper. I can't decide if I should let it go or not. It's in awesome shape. I'm the original owner. I got it for my 12th birthday, and have stored it once I stopped riding. I recently broke it out and put it back together. I personally think it looks better than most BMX bike out today. Maybe that's the old school talking, I don't know. Anyway how much do you think I would be able to get for it. Is there a site you could recommend that would help? Thanks.

Wow...$10. I was just checking ebay and there is one on there like mine going for $202.00 right now. I don't have any picks at the moment, but I'll take a few and post them later.

The bikes from the early 80's were more or less just modified 'kids' bikes and really didn't do anything related to engineering and structural testing or integrity at all. The improvements in engineering and having actual riders that design and test the bikes that are ridden has raised the quality level, as well as the safety level of bikes ten fold.
I remember when I started I would break a frame once a year - at least. Now, I ride the same frame for several years with zero problems and usually just get a new frame to try something different.
Now, SHOULD YOU SELL IT? That's a much tougher question. If you need the cash and that's what you are willing to sell, then yes. But, I would hang onto it and bring it out when it's time for the old school to represent.

Yep, That's kind of what I was thinking. I really don't need to sell it. I think I'll keep it around just for the old school factor. Plus my 4 year is starting to take a liking to it.
