I'm trying to thread the shifter cable through a SRAM Rival 08 left shifter. The right shifter was easy, but no matter how many times I try or wiggle the cable I cannot get it through. I'm beyond frustrated. Any tips? Is this a common problem?

Yes. But I don't understand why. It takes slightly more force to get the cable through than on a campy/shimano internal shifter.
