The health club I belong to has started offering "Boot Camp" whole body interval training. Typically they have a warm up of doing jumping jacks and jogging in place and then they have 10 exercise stations where you go "all out" for 50 seconds at each station with 10 seconds of recovery and to get to the next station. On most days they do two rounds with about 3 minute recovery between the rounds, After the exercise stations then we do a couple of sets of tabata. Everyday they change the exercise routine. I wear my heart rate monitor and my heart stays around level 5.
This month weather has been crazy with rain, It seems every weekend it has been raining, so I have been spending a lot of time on my trainer and going to boot camp twice a week.
Yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks I went on a group ride we did 30 miles at a good pace (for me). I was shocked how strong I felt. I think the boot camp is helping my bike riding. I am planning to make boot camp it a part of my winter routine.
