Hi, all. I was wondering if you guys could recommend a bike seat for a 27" bike? I just built up an old steel Raleigh Grand Prix to use as my commuter/baby hauler. However, I'm not finding any seats that state they fit on a 27" frame. Also, I think that I can't use the Topeak, because I don't have the mounting holes on the seat stays. Thanks in advance for the help! And now for the required emoticon......
What type of seat-post does the bike have? One with a built in clamp? Or is the post a traditional straight tube?
You should head over to "Bike Mechanics" forum. You might find the info on Sheldon Brown's older bike page (http://sheldonbrown.com/oldbikes/index.html) helpful.
A 27" bike would be monstrously large. Your wheels are probably 27" in diameter. Don't confuse that with the frame size. The frame size is the measurement from the center of the bottom bracket (the bearing that your cranks are attached to) to the top of the seat tube. That's probably not going to help you in this case anyway.
Are you looking for a just the seat (saddle), or do you need the seat post too?

I'm a total idiot. What I'm looking for is a child seat, not a saddle. And yes, the bike is a 21 1/2" frame, 27" wheels. This was the worst post ever. I'm ashamed of myself. I'll start a new thread that isn't so confusing.
