We took the Globe/Johns River Road/SR1367 from Blowing Rock to Lenoir. The first 8 miles from Blowing Rock to Globe was a very scenic and very very steeeeeep downhill run on a dirt road that begins on Main Street in Blowing Rock. There a a few different roads that can be taken from there. We followed SR1367 to
Rte90 then to Globe Mountain Gap Road/SR1369. Very steep uphill then downhill to Mullberry Creek Road/SR1369 South. This connected us back to Route 90 which leads into Lenoir. There is a cool picnic spot on Mulberry that we stopped and had lunch. Also we used Howards Yellow Cab (828) 754-3471
($35) to shuttle us so that we would not have to peddle back up the hill to Blowing Rock. The total mileage was 28. All in all a very scenic and rustic ride. There are a lot of connecting roads that could be to change or vary this ride. The best part is we saw almost no traffic!
