Northeast - Google's New Tricycle Street View

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Have you guys discovered this new addition to Google Maps "Street Views?" Apparently, Google is now slithering its way into places they couldn't reach with an automobile to create virtual tours of bike paths and other cool places.
I just checked out the Monterey Bike Path view and now I'm itching to go ride it. Google is also asking for suggestions of other trails we'd like to see photographed for Street Views. I submitted the Hudson River Greenway, Wantagh Parkway Bikeway, Bethpage Bikeway, and Waterfront Walkway (Jersey City). Of course, there are many others, but I'll be glad to see these for starters.

The Monterey bike path is really nice, I enjoyed the views when I was there though it was pretty crowded in Monterey; riding along the PCH is an awesome experience as well.

Is there a bike path along the PCH? The couple of times I've driven that road, I was kind of disappointed that much of the water was blocked by houses and businesses. I was sort of hoping there was another way to experience it.
I submitted Central Park, because they only mapped a tiny part of it. The tricycle would fit in perfectly with all the pedicabs. Maybe we'd catch some hilarious altercations too!

on the stretch of the PCH I rode there was a shoulder but I was on the actual highway itself; rode north from San Francisco to Stinson Beach then on to Point Reyes National Seashore. The scenery was great and I didn't have any problems on the road though I must admit the certain sections were a bit narrow for my taste considering how many turns there were but not much in the way of traffic so it wasn't that bad.

Sadly, the job that took me all over the country almost every day of the week for seven years has come to an end. I may never see the west coast again. And I'll probably never ride the Katy Trail, either. Ya gotta take advantage of opportunities while you've got 'em, kids! :(

PS: How pathetic is this? I've actually caught myself using Google Street View a few times to revisit places I used to stay and restaurants at which I dined during those years! Now at least I might be able to use Google to ride some far away trails and bikeways vicariously.

Not pathetic at all. My mother is 83 years old, and we played with street view recently. She showed me the house she grew up in. She hadn't seen it in a long time!
