You know how lots of cyclo-cross bikes have a little knob looking thing that reverses the cable direction so they can top-route the cable with a "road" (bottom pull) front derailer?

Does anyone make a clamp-on aftermarket version of that? I'm cooking up a drop-bar MTB project, but it's dead in the water without a reverser for the frame I'm eye-ing. After all, can't use a top pull "MTB" derailer with road shift levers.

Brilliant! Thanks guys. I did searches on various iterations of "cable reverser" and never came up with anything. That Problem Solvers doo-dad will be perfect!

I avoided the problem with my MTB drop-bar conversion by retaining the MTB front derailleur and shifting it with a barend shifter. So the bike has an STI for the rear derailleur and a barend for the front. Looks odd but works.

Thought about that, but a reverser is definitely cheaper.

Not if you already have the barend sitting unused in your parts box. :)

BTW, the Problem Solvers web site doesn't show the "Cross Clamp" as one of their products.

It was the first place I looked, but it looks like they don't list everything:

Saw that too. I thought it was bizarre that they would only list "some" of their products...weird business model; make something but keep it a secret.
