I'm joining a friendly ride to the top of Mt. Wachusett this weekend, 25 Oct. We'll stay together "to" and "from" enjoying fall foliage, meandering back roads and small towns.

One gets to tackle the mountain at any speed one so chooses. In my case the 3.8 mile accent will do the choosing on the way up and I, along with my very, very good friend DuraAce side pull, will do our best to influence the debate on the way down.

It starts at Grace Bike parking lot at 8AM in Holliston, round trip 95 miles, about 6+ hours.

Weather looks great. Rain stops 2 hours before the 8 AM start and temps perfect between 52 and 62F. I'm going with shorts, sweater and a windbreaker I can stuff into my jersey pocket.

Just an FYI so you're not surprised....I believe the Mt. Wachusett metric century that was supposed to be on the 18th was postponed to the 25th. I was going to participate in it last weekend, but I have other family comittments this Sunday. Linky to organizer's website (http://www.teambikealley.org/)

Steve, Alert rider you are. Thanks.
Coincidental.
My gaggle is a different, more casual group, ad hoc rest stops in lieu of organized, stocked stops. I'm relying on my power bar (aka banana and fig newtons) and $25 cheaper (as in zip, zero, zed, nada, uh huh - nuthin). We'll probably get to the mountain a bit later around 11:30-ish.

So how was your ride? Looked like a beautiful day to be out there!

Beautiful day, lots of folks at the summit and great roads the whole way. 105 miles with a mixed group of skills meant either riding fast and waiting or cruise control but all nice folks. The torque plot makes it easy to spot Wachusett.
