Track Cycling: Velodrome Racing and Training Area - Advice on best track build

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm relatively new to track riding and I just got a very good deal from a friend on a brand new Cinelli Vigorelli frame and fork. Up until now, I've been using the old beaters they loan out at the track. Anyway, my question is how much will it cost me for a decent kit? Normally I would have just bought an off-the-shelf complete bike but the bargain on the Vigorelli was too good to pass up and that leaves me with a bit to spend on the build. So I'm not on a shoestring budget but also don't feel like blowing the bank on campy record and over the top wheels. Can I get everything I need somewhere in the $500-1000 range?

Yes, you can. The quality of the components will be determined by the deals you can find. If you live in an area that is not track friendly in the winter, you have time to shop and maybe add mo money to the fund if needed to get the stuff you really want . Get the stuff you need as you come across good deals on what you want. No need to get every thing at once or in order of what goes on the frame first, second.......and so on. Just make sure things are compatible with each other.
