I bought this bike from a guy that indicated he knows nothing about bikes. Can you help validate this is a Bianchi and if so, what model, age, and value? I paid $120 and since did a 20 minute clean-up. It has good Campy Mirage brifters, brakes, rear derailer, and a veloce front derailer-shifts nicely. Also came with a nice rear wheel (fir) with a good 8 spd Miche cassette, 130mm campy record hub in good shape, but rest of wheel is bent 2x on rim edge, so likely not useful, so if the frame isn't high quality, parts are quite functional. No front wheel. Lastly, I believe this is a European model. Stickers are very worn, but appears to indicate Chromo frame material. Your help is appreciated!

Simply based on the Campy Ergo levers the oldest it can be is '92/3 by default, it could be newer. If everything works I'd say you did OK @ $120. Even if you have to buy new wheels I'd still say you did OK.

well I can't find a Bianchi with those Monoplanor Veloce brakes that have that plastic cap. also that Dt is very odd. it is ovalized but the orientation stays vertical at the BBshell instead of being horizontal. I do vote for about a '96 model and if it was a US model it would be a Veloce.
OH where do you live? for a $120 I agree you did pretty good

8 speed Campy cassettes can be hard to find or expensive. If you've got a good one, I'd think about rebuilding that wheel with a new rim. As others have said, $120 is a good price. I would have bought it for that price, no question.

All: thank-you for your expert advice. I bought the bike in Belgium. I too wonder about the oval tube and it being a real bianchi? My bike bud who left a few months ago told me about bikes he found over here where folks went to great lengths with new paint, strange components, and stickers in an effort to make a "30 ft Colnago", etc.. I'm kind of hoping, I'm not the owner of one of those "strange upgrades". Thanks again, I'm off to put a set of old wheels on the bike and see how it rides, that and if I still have enough garage storage space, are the real tests.

I doubt that this is not a real Bianchi. if some one to go that route with Bianchi they would certainly paint it Celeste and more likely than not put Columbus decals on it and maybe even a model name.
pst some pics of the wheel/rim. if the sidewall is just bent a bit maybe you can make a temp repair

Pretty sure that is a Veloce too...I've seen em go for between 450-750 on Ebay...I have a Celeste one with full Veloce 9 speed grouppo and Record/Open Pro wheels....even a celeste fizik saddle too. 57 cm...I would not try to get more than 800.00 or even less. Thats the market these days-everyone is broke and no one can get a 20% apr capital one credit card anymore o buy all the chinese crap they do not need! Anyway, that one is worth about 400.00 as is....I hate when CL seller quote Ebay prices. His pics suck....follow the auction and my guess is no more than 450.00 for that one. too bad you are not a 57 cm.....mine could be for sale. Wait no.......I can not sell any of my steel bikes or I will turn into a walmart bike at midnight

All: I finally found a picture of another Bianchi white exact same color scheme and his bike had mainly Campy veloce components. I took the taco rear wheel and bent is around a bit, put it on my spoke adjuster and it now runs true, but there is a 2 inch fine crack running parallel to the rim outer edge, so ...I had some fun getting it straight, but it is still broken. Thanks again for your help,
