I am considering purchasing a 900 Watt Cyclone bicylce kit. I am trying find out what the difference is between the 1 & 3 chain wheel set ups. I haven't been able to get a response from Cyclone so far. Any advice?

The 1piece has the main chain going directly over the motor, and around to an idler wheel
The 3 piece has it's own chain going to it's own sprocket on the pedals, and there's an idler GEAR, not a wheel.

Which would you recommend; the 1 wheel or 3 wheel chain set up? I plan to ride on the road & dirt trails.

It basicly only the way you mount to motor to the bike and the parts required. The 1 chain wheel allows you to mount the motor under and behind the crank sprocket. In this system the motor uses the same chain as the crank sprocket. However, you need to add 4 to 6 links to the chain. This works OK but the motor hangs low and can be a problem when riding over a curb or on a dirt bike. The 3 chain system mounts the motor in front of the crank gear on the V bar. It uses a second chain between it and a second gear attached to the crank gear. Both systems have freewheels that allow the motor without peddling or allows you to peddle without running the motor. In both situations the final connection to the rear wheel is your original crank chain.
One big advantage on the 3 crank is it's easier to align the motor to the crank sprocket. Some people also think it is a stronger mounting. Caution in both systems though........you can over tighten the mounting bolts and crush your bike tubes. Be sure to tighten all bolts evenly and be sure to use lock washers or locking nuts.
