I do not know of any bicycle specific fog light though I suspect that some of the German approved headlights with a sharp top cutoff on the beam might be effective if mounted relatively low. The Schmidt Edelux dynamo light specifically claims it is good for foggy conditions.

sorry for the late reply. it has been a crazy time.

anyway, my favourite bike is an old west german bike. it has a mount on the front fork where the generator should mount, but because the generator i purchased has a rear mount bracket that is working just fine, and i don't have any other place to mount the headlight, well, i mounted the headlight onto there.

just like many other dynamo, mine had some issues with grounding, so before i got it working i got one of those round stick anywhere lights and put some yellow lens tape over it to make it a yellow light. however, this particular light was not meant for a headlight, so it was more of a "be seen" light than a light to see with. i imagine if you did need some sort of fog light, it would be a good place to mount it...fairly low.

so, that being said...i have never ridden in the fog. actually, in my part of the world it is rarely foggy or raining, and usually i am not riding around in it (although i do ride almost daily). i think what tatfiend mentioned would work, but honestly i think if it is heavy fog you will probably have a hard time seeing no matter the light. my suggestion would be to find some nice yellow lights to be seen (as opposed to just covering up white lights with yellow lens tape).

i cannot find it on the web, but i bought a light at a local bike shop that is 5 led and yellow. i believe the packaging called the model a stoplight. anywho, the reflector lens/case is clear(reflects white) , but i have it mounted facing rear and it seems to work great for being visible at night. the closest one i see on the web is probably http://toolusa.amazonwebstore.com/5LED-BICYCLE-TAILLIGHT-FLASHER-W-STRAPCLIP/M/B000Z7XNVG.htm?traffic_src=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=froogle . very similar to mine except on this one the lens is yellow.

anyway, i hope that is of some use. let us know if you find something that works for you. pedal on!

edit: i totally forgot i had uploaded to flickr. the only problem i have with mounting the front light there is that it is pointing a bit to the side, but then again it is not my primary light. however, the location is probably better for fog than the handlebar lights.
