yeah backpacks may not be for everyone, but it doesn't seem to bother those women much

I like wearing a backpack in the cooler months to retain heat.

That is a good question i noticed they had back packs and no panniers but if you go to there web site the address is on the origional post they have panniers. the girls are doing the 4000km ride for donations to a charity which does up old bikes and sends them on to Africa for transport for the poor people there who cant afford transport and can only walk the massive distances in there country

Heh, I'm confused by their setup too - they're barely carrying anything at all, though. Also, they're sponsored by my LBS - cool.

My comment that they "look miserable" was a bit of sacrasm.

In the video, these delightful young ladies appear completely carefree and full of life. I thought the "pick" about the backpacks was a little silly....doesn't look like the backpacks bothered them an iota. So I employed a sarcastic comment to point out that the backpacks didn't appear to be working against them at all.

Apparently it didn't work. Oh well. Enjoyed the crap out of their video though and I applaud them for having a blast doing Good Work.
