Did you arrive home to find that your bike was no longer on your car rack? Well, I found it, I'm afraid, in the travel portion of I-380 just north of Cedar Rapids. In addition to the damage from hitting the pavement at speed, it looks as though it was run over at least once. Perhaps the frame, fork, bars and saddle are salvagable, but the wheels are toast.
I didn't have room in my vehicle to pack it with me so I stashed it in the grass at the side of the road and alerted the DOT to its position to pick it up for safe keeping.
