Vs. the whole shoe cover, less bulky and I can leave them (http://www.artscyclery.com/descpage-7323.html) on in this iffy weather when I am going back and forth between road and trainer.

I also add another thin sock liner. Now the ears will be next...anyone have a favorite under-helmet hat/earmuff they like? My fav is too thick, so I skip the helmet when I wear it.

I found these at a lbs and love them. http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/HE409D00-Rox+Dog+Earz+Helmet+Ear+Covers.aspx?SSAID=169313
I used them this morning over my lightweight balaclava. Perfect. It was 36 degrees and dark when I left home and I'm a cold weather wimp.

Thanks for the toe cover link! I've been looking for something for in between temps - too cold for shoes, but too warm for booties.

As far as your head - this is what I've wore the past 2 winters - Link (http://www.performancebike.com/bikes//CatalogSearchResultView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10551&langId=-1&pageSize=16&beginIndex=0&sortBy=Dollar+Rank%2F%2F1&searchType=resultSet&cn1=&searchTerm=Headsweats+TriTech+Winter+Skull+Cap)

When it gets colder, I add a balaclava under it. I also have a designated winter (bigger) helmet that I've taped over the front vents.

Enjoy! :thumb:

For fall and spring, I use oversocks. It avoids the 1930's "wing-tip" shoe look that happens with a white shoe and a black toe cover.
It's basically a time trial shoe cover, but it's mosre cycling-sock-like.

I have 3 balaclava's of different thicknesses. And cycling caps. And a beanie dealie. And a turtle fur ear warmer for cold days. I bought a GoreTex ear band for about $35 that I DON'T wear because it blocks out sound. Looking for a nice, thin, winter cycling cap with ear flaps. I've come to really appreciate flipable bills on cycling caps for the low winter sun and evening rides.

Toe dealies are brilliant. I have two pair. I generally just leave them on my winter shoes and if if gets too cold, put on a light pair of overshoes.

Don't get me started on gloves...

I use a Gator Hot Noggen,

and on really cold WI days, I'll wear a helmet cover over the helmet, too. The ear flaps can be folded up if the weather warms on the ride. I like this, may get a second so I have one to wear while one is in the wash
