Have an opportunity to pick up what appears to be a '83 Olympian for a song that looks to be in mint condition. Am I right on guessing the year? Appears to have a claw instead of a RD hanger which is a bummer since I was hoping to swap over everything on my Marathon to a slightly larger, and better fitting, frame...but this might not be worth it. Still, should be a 502 frame, right? Bike is a few miles from its current owner, so he isn't too sure on details. Says its barely been used; and the pics seem to confirm that.

Worth picking up for a flip though? What would be a good price to ask?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Just a guess, but I could probably sell that for +/- 150 dollars in NE Ohio. It's nothing fancy as you noted, but it looks like it's in great shape.

Those wheel reflectors though.... yuck!

+1

Looks like a mid $150 bike in good condition.

My lady has this bike (except a red/gold colorway) as her fixie. Nothing special, it should be 502 steel. If you want to flip it, you would have to go much lower than the 150 mentioned, because I think it would sell for less.

Providing it is truly "Ready To Ride", I'd concur with the est of $150.

I'm selling a clean, ready to ride '85 Olympian right now for $125 and it hasn't moved. I'm not sure where Wind Lake is, but the Madison market has slowed substantially. http://madison.craigslist.org/bik/1432034936.html

Thanks gang.

Gthoro - I'd be waiting until spring to sell it; maybe since we're heading into winter is why it's slow...

Wind Lake is near Milwaukee.
