I'm looking for a cheap place in the US to fly to. I'm thinking of scheduling the trip for the end of November. Any suggestions? My budget is tight (<$350).
Thanks, guys!

$350 for the flight, or whole trip?

Entire thing
if the whole trip, take the LIRR with bike out to Shelter Island or Block Island.

I wanted to fly this time around, but I might be asking for too much.

Go to the Bahamas. Sleep on the beach and do not eat. :p
You may want to up your goal amount a tad. That is unless you can find a cheap flight to vegas and god knows their hotel rooms are cheap.

depends how planned out you like your trip to be. if you did a 'name your own fare'- you'd get whatever flights priceline put you on, but at a discount.
then, stay in a hostel (cheaper). OR couch surf (http://www.couchsurfing.org/) (free).
you could go to almost any large metro and get around via public transit rather cheaply. i usually pack a bag full of breakfast-y stuff (granola bars, etc) and eat 1 big meal a day, cutting the food budget down. its do-able on $350.

Honestly, I'm not looking for a really fancy experience. I'm talking two days/one night kind of thing, mostly for photography and getting the hell out of New York. I should also add that I'd rather stay away from the big spots most people hit, but not go far away enough to compromise my safety.
I can manage with packing my own food if I have to (though I'll probably eat out for dinner).

Don't fly anywhere. Save your money. Go on a bicycle tour.

Check website for the cheap fares....if you find a good one, like the destination, grab it there and back.
Might be good to check individual air lines websites.
I know from here, they some times have like $39 fares to Las Vegas. Probably $50-60 after additional fees, but that's still only $100-120 for trip there and back.
There are so many cool places in the USA that if you need to fly, just find a cheap flight to wherever, and then find cool stuff to do! For $350, you can fly on a commuter jet/prop to a lot of places fairly cheap, and then just wing it !

Chicago FTW. Flights on Southwest, from Columbus, are $25 each way on certain days.
